Encrypted in transit and at rest

Data practices
These practices apply to everything you connect. The full details are in our privacy policy.
Happenstance encrypts your data while it moves between systems and while it is stored.
We don't sell your network data or use it to train AI models.
Your connections aren't public. Your connections are only searchable to you, the Happenstance friends you accept, and the Happenstance groups you join.
Disconnecting stops future sync and deletes the data imported from that account, including stored credentials and network connections. You can reconnect at any time.
Connectors
Happenstance needs to understand who you know. It doesn't need the contents of your messages, and each connector is built around that difference.
Explore connectorsSupported network exports are processed locally in your browser. You select what to share and can preview exactly what will be uploaded.
We don't request or receive message bodies or attachments from Gmail, Outlook, or your LinkedIn and Instagram DMs. We only use details like who sent a message and when to understand who you know.
Supported accounts connect through OAuth, so we never see your password and you can revoke access at any time. We request the access each connector needs, read-only where available.
Search helps someone find the right person. It never exposes the content or recency of your private communications.
