About
As software becomes a greater part of our everyday lives, I sincerely believe in people-first solutions. Whether it be my students in class, research participants in lab, or computational biologists on my team, I want to recenter software development to prioritize them: the greater community. In the future, I want to bring tech as close as I can to community members and changemakers. To get there, I continue to build my technical skills through impactful work in a variety of fields. Currently I am working as a software engineer in the Ellrott Lab supporting cancer genomics research. My research efforts are split into two branches: building genotype to phenotype infrastructure and building out data exploration platforms. For the former, I am building code libraries primarily in Python that are able to better connect genomic info (your DNA sequence) to relevant phenotypical evidence (how it might affect your resistance to a certain drug), enabling cancer data to be ML-ready. For the latter, I am rapidly tooling the ETL, UI, and server stack for a biological data platform at the Knight Cancer Institute, working in React, Next.js, Python, Go, and Kubernetes. I am always looking for new and exciting things! Feel free to connect.
