Dr. Ahmed Dahir is a dedicated Public Health and Tropical Medicine Specialist with extensive experience in humanitarian emergency response. His career has focused on addressing health challenges in vulnerable populations, particularly within the Eastern Mediterranean Region. x

Currently, Dr. Dahir serves as the Team Lead for the World Health Organization's Gaza Office, where he plays a critical role in coordinating and leading health and humanitarian aid efforts in a highly complex and challenging environment. He is actively involved in assessing needs, implementing contingency plans, and reporting on the dire health situation in Gaza. un+5

Prior to his current role, he contributed to global health initiatives as a Technical Officer with WHO's Eastern Mediterranean Region Office, notably in the Polio Eradication Initiative, demonstrating his commitment to disease prevention and control on a regional scale. x
